These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Celebrity Death Pool ("the website", "the game", "we", "us"). By creating an account or otherwise using the website, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website. 2. What Celebrity Death Pool is

Celebrity Death Pool is a free game of entertainment and prediction. Players create or join groups ("tontines") and predict which public figures may pass away within a given period, scoring points when a prediction is correct. The game is offered for amusement and social competition only.

It is not gambling. There is no entry fee, no wager of money or anything of monetary value, and no cash or prizes are awarded. Scores, badges, and leaderboard positions have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged, sold, or transferred.

3. Nature of the content & respectful use

The game concerns the mortality of real, public individuals. It is intended as dark humour and light-hearted prediction, not to celebrate, encourage, threaten, or wish harm on any person. You agree not to use the website to harass, threaten, defame, or incite harm against anyone. Any content that promotes violence toward a real person is strictly prohibited and may be removed.

4. Eligibility

You must be of the age of legal majority in your country of residence, and in any case old enough to provide valid consent for online services (16 in many EU states). By using the website you confirm that you meet these requirements.

5. Your account

• You are responsible for providing a valid email address and for keeping your password confidential.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must notify us promptly of any unauthorised use of your account.
• You may not impersonate another person or create an account using someone else's details.
• One person should not maintain multiple accounts to gain an unfair advantage.

6. Acceptable use

When using the website, you agree not to:

• break any applicable law or regulation;
• upload unlawful, offensive, hateful, sexually explicit, or infringing content;
• upload a profile image or choose a username that is offensive, misleading, or infringes third-party rights;

• attempt to manipulate scores, leaderboards, or other players' tontines.

7. User content

"User content" includes your username, profile icon, tontine names, and the picks you make. You retain ownership of content you submit, but you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, and display it as needed to operate the game (for example, showing your username, icon, and non-secret picks to other players).

You are solely responsible for the content you submit and confirm that you have the right to submit it. We may remove any content that violates these Terms or that we reasonably consider inappropriate.

8. Game rules and fair play

Each tontine has settings chosen by its administrator (duration, number of picks, visibility of bets, and whether duplicate picks are allowed). Scoring, badges, and tontine closure are handled automatically by the system. We may correct scores or remove entries affected by error, abuse, or technical issues. We aim to apply the rules consistently, but the system's recorded result is final.

9. Intellectual property

The website, its design, logos, text, and software are owned by Celebrity Death Pool or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the website except as expressly permitted.

Celebrity images are sourced from public repositories under their respective licences. Their use, attribution, and removal requests are described in our Privacy & Cookie Policy (see the "Images and Copyright Notice" section).

10. Service availability

The website is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the website at any time without notice.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Information shown in the game (including dates and details about public figures) may be incomplete or inaccurate and is provided for entertainment purposes only.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Celebrity Death Pool shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of or inability to use the website. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

13. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your account, without notice, if you breach these Terms or use the website in a way that is harmful to others or to the service. You may stop using the website and request deletion of your account at any time, as described in our Privacy Policy.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the website after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operator of Celebrity Death Pool, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence remain unaffected.
